
Project summary
“Intercultural Crossroads in Europe” is a multilateral youth exchange taking place in Krakow. The youth exchange is a 7-day programme focussing on the topics of Intercultural learning and European citizenship through a series of non-formal and creative sessions . Before leaving for the exchange the participants will prepare through a session in their local organisation (promoter). At the youth exchange the participants will create a promotional tool of the project, which they will disseminate after the exchange is over, motivating new young people to take part in future exchanges. In total this youth exchange will bring together 40 young people and 10 group leaders from 10 different European countries. This mixture of people and cultures is the basis for the learning experience.
This youth exchange is part of the training strategy of Don Bosco Youth-Net ivzw, and want to give young people from its member organisations an incentive for becoming active as European citizens through European youth work.

Practical information
Practical information:
- The activity takes place in Krakow, Poland
- The activity takes place from the 18th till the 25th of July 2010.
- The deadline for applications is 1 month before the start of the activity: 18/06/2010.
- There is a participation fee of € 120 per person (which will be collected at the youth exchange)
- There is a 70% reimbursement of travel costs (which will be made by SEPA bank transfer)
- The details of the participants need to be send to DBYN’s international secretariat
Participants
- Each partner needs to send 4 participants, preferably aged between 18 and 25, but between 16 and 30 is also allowed.
- Being able to understand and talk English
- The activity aims at young people who want to get a first taste of European youth work, so it is easy accessible for all.
Profile of group leaders
- Each partner needs to send 1 group leader, aged 18 or up
- Experience in DBYN (participated in step 1, step 2 or seminar before or is a trainer)
- Being able to work in English
- Being able to work in an European team Being able to take part in the advance planning visit
